Challenging, but worth it: hiking in the National Park!

A network of nine park trails allow hiking trips ranging from one day up to one week, at altitudes between 800m and 2,642m. It is strongly recommended to hike with a guide.

1 Nikoloz Romanoff Trail
Diverse trail crossing the National Park from Likani ( Borjomi district) to Marelisi village (Kharagauli district).
Route length: (one direction): 39-41km
2 overnight stays in the National Park in Lomismta TS and Didi Sakhvlari TS.
5 hrs day 1, approx. 6,5 hrs day 2. 2 hrs day 3.
Day trip to Lomismta RS (approx. 4 hrs) possible. Hike can be combined with trail No 6.
2 St Andrew's Trail
Crossing the National Park from Atskuri to Marelisi(or vice versa), passing the highest point mt. Sametskhvareo. 2-3 ovrnight satys in Amarati TS, Didi Sakhvlari TS and Ranger shelters or camping.
Route length: (one direction): 49-51km. 6 hrs day 1, approx 4 hrs day 2 (depends on location of overnight stay), day 3 depending on location of overnight stay.
3 Panorama Trail
Challenging round trip from Atskuri RS via Amarati TS with great panoramic views. One overnight stay.
Route length: (one direction): 16 km. approx. 6 hours, 18 km 6 hours day2.
4 Pure Pristine forest trail
Shortest trail crossing the National Park. From Nunisi RS (Kharagauli district) to Zanavi RS Borjomi district) or vice versa. Especially recommendable when the rhododendron is in blossom (April-May). Overnight stay at Nunisi RS or camping.
Route length (one direction); 12-13km, approx. 6 hrs.
5 Zekari Pass Trail
Trip from Abastumani RS (Adigeni district) to Didmagala TS.
Route length: 9-10 km, approx 4-4,5 hrs one way.
Crossing the National Park by Mountainbike from Abastumani via Zekari to Sairme is possible.
6 Following Wildlife Traces
A day trip leading through diverse landscapes from Likani to Qvabiskhevi (both Borjomi district).
Route length: (one direction): 12-13 km , approx. 6 hrs.
7 National Park Info Trail
Informative round trip starting from Borjomi National Park Administration.
Route length: 3 km. approx. 1,5 hrs.
Along the trail there are 9 stations and installations dedicated to different topics: the National Parks idea, flora and fauna of the National Park, vegetation zones, traditional land use and other. Arriving at the installations some challenge awaits the hiker: finding out where does the golden eagle hunt its prey or assigning movable parts of the installation dedicated to the National Parks Fauna: which footprint belongs to which animal? The trail can either be hiked self-guided or with a National Park guide.
8 Megruki Gorge
Trip through the gorge. If there is high water ist is recommended to go by horse. The Gorge starts just behind Didi Sakhvlari TS and leads along the river Megruki (Stepuri Chala).
Route length: 5,5 km from Didi Sakhvlari, one way 3 hrs.
9 Shepherds' Trail
Trail leading mainly along the ridge of Shavi Seri. Connects Amarati TS with Lomismta TS.
Route length: 14 km, approx. 5 hours.
During your visit to the National Park,

please keep in mind that you're in a protected area. Please act accordingly and conduct yourself in a responsible manner - it's the natural habitat for many species - for some of them, it's their only remaining habitat. Hunting and collecting of any species is strictly prohibited. Please avoid any activity, which may disturb animals or harm the flora. Do not leave, burn or bury any rubbish in the national park. Fires may only be lit at designated fire areas and extinguished properly. There is no smoking allowed inside the shelters. You are kindly asked to please leave all shelters in a clean and tidy manner. Finally, enjoy the wonderful sounds of nature - please, don't make unnecessary noise.
